Found in 2014, the Canadian University of Modern Technology, (CUMT) was established by Muckson Sesay, a Sierra Leonean Entrepreneur, to bridge the inequalities faced by Sierra Leonean children in acquiring quality education. Among other things, one of Sesay’s aim is to provide an educational facility that prepares students with the right mind set and skills, compete in the national and international job market and above all to serve as job creators. To actualize this, the Canadian University ensures that its students are provided with sophisticated learning equipment. The University believes that, the use of computers and technology is the key to success in the information age, it does embark on ambitious building programmes that would provide facilities capable of hosting a modern educational facilities.

Canadian University, works in accordance with the country’s educational policies especially in the area of inclusive education; which values diversity and the unique contributions each student brings to the classroom. At Canadian University, every student feels safe and has a sense of belonging. Students participate and take part in decisions that affect them.

 Muckson Sesay, founder and Chancellor of the Canadian University, has been described by many as an illustrious and quintessential educationist whose quest to transform Sierra Leone educational sector is unmatched. During the official inauguration of the university, Chancellor Sesay mentioned that he was going to make the Canadian University of Modern Technology, a cathedral of Sierra Leone, and a premier of learning in Africa. Such a pronouncement is huge, and the signs of achieving that are visible. The Canadian university is a proud recipient of a well-established and operational television and radio stations mainly for practical purposes for its students, electronics library with high-tech computers, 24 hours electricity supply and a high-speed internet facility. These facilities make the Canadian University pride itself as the epitome of modern education in Sierra Leone.
