Central University welcomes over 200 students.

The administration of the central university has during the university's matriculation ceremony welcomed over 200 students and urged them to treat their academic work seriously.

Matriculation is the formal process through which students are officially welcomed into a university or college after fulfilling certain academic requirements.

Gibril Africanus Sesay, Chairman of the occasion, underscored the year 2022 as very historic, historic in the sense that it was in 2022 that Central University attained university status. He noted that the students made no mistake in choosing the central university as a place of learning.

Maligi Sesay, Registrar of Central University, elaborated extensively on the progress made since CU-SL attained university status. He congratulated the students for embarking on their academic journey at CU-SL.

Speaking to a galaxy of students, lecturers, parents, and well-wishers Professor Bob Karankay Conteh, Vice Chancellor welcomed the parents of the matriculants to exercise patience with their children. He said it is challenging to keep a student in the university, considering the current economic conundrum of the country. He said CU-SL will do everything humanly possible to give the students the very best in their academic pursuits.

Professor Conteh urged the students to behave themselves in the best possible way. As students, professor Conteh advised that they should allow the university to go through them. The matriculation he said is a very important day for every student because it is the day that their names were going to be signed in the university book.

Mohamed Chernoh Kamara, President of the Central University Students' Union Government, highlighted the various student groups that are legally registered with his government. Kamara urged that the new students should be very mindful of the groups they associate themselves with. Cultism is not in any way accepted in the university.

Musa Aiahson Koroma, the well-articulate Chief Minister of the Central University Students' Union Government delivered the speech on the vote of thanks. He however advised the matriculants to be mindful of their wording on social media.

The signing of the university register climaxed the occasion.
